If you buy an unlock phone you can change carriers with that phone. Not sure which box to check I went into Best Buy purchased mine and I was already a verizion customer. Verizon was going to charge me $40 for the new phone. I called and complained because I have been a long time customer and they removed the $40 fee. Just and FYI.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You only want to purchase an UNLOCK phone if you think you may want to TRANSFER your service (AND phone) to another phone carrier. Not all phone carriers use the same standard, but an UNLOCKED Verizon phone would work on AT&T (and vice versa), but not on Sprint/T-Mobile. If you plan to stay with Verizon, you do not need to purchase an UNLOCKED phone.
