You can get unlocked phones with cricket and they will work. I had a s20 and my boyfriend has the note 20 ultra both worked unlocked. But just know as of right now they have the 5g locked and it can only be used with their 5g phone. So you won't be able to use 5g right now with cricket but the phone the phone itself you can use.
