1 piece, it's quite thin, but protects the phone very well.

Please try again later.It is a one piece cover, but since its made by Samsung specifically for the phone, its actually very protective...its a thicker silicone than the generic covers and protects bezel, camera lenses, etc. Plus the cut outs all fit the holes/speaker/inputs on phone - some of the generic ones I looked at had some problems with that.

However it is pretty thick, fits in snuggly and is more on the rubbery side. It feels like a rubber tire imho but provides a pretty good grip. There's just a minor lip over it on all 4 sides so if it fell face first the front glass probably wouldn't touch the floor. Be careful if/when you remove the case from the phone since when I have it gripped the silence/DND switch to expose the orange indicator. I was wondering why I suddenly had no sound until I realized removing the case grabbed the switch and pulled it down! All in all the case feels good but again more on the rubbery car tire feeling imho. I hope that i was able to help. I have owned the case beginning on the 29th day after the phones release to the public. I gather it has been about 2 months now or so. FYI.....it is a pet hair attractor so if you leave your phone on your bed and you have/allow your dogs/cats on your bed then expect to grab a micro-fiber cloth to wipe off the case each and every time because it is like a pet hair magnet! I have read that elsewhere but only after I purchased the case. I no longer put my phone on my bed so my dogs' hairs don't get all over it!
