I don’t think you have to do anything, as long as the phone is unlocked (and by unlocked I mean you don’t have a payment of it which tie you to the carrier eg. T-Mobile, Verizon, Xfinity etc) any SIM card should work with the phone anywhere around the world. That been said , some phone are “eSIM “ which does not require and actual sim card to work, in that case , I will suggest you call the local carrier in the country you are traveling too, and ask them if their network or broadband support eSIM.
