A bad buy, in what way? The S24 Ultra is expensive, but it's also a really great phone. I ended up switching back to the Z Fold 6 (which is slightly more pocketable, though the camera isn't as good as the S24U), but I still have the S24 Ultra, and use it frequently, especially when I need the better camera. I see no reason it shouldn't last several years, just as most of my previous Galaxy models have. They're pretty solidly built, and they get software updates for 7 years. While they may not be quite as long-lived as some iPhones, the flexibility of the Android OS more than makes up for that, for me.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you have to purchase your phone upfront or make payments to purchase your phone through your carrier such as Metro by T-Mobile. I don't see how it can be bad. You'll have the newer phone then if you want to trade in or upgrade you'll get more value for your trade in. So it shouldn't be as expensive if you trade in or upgrade to a newer phone.
