• I used my $100 gift card to apply it to the $160 prepaid 2-year protection plan on the phone, so I would think so.

• I didn't think about that until after they handed me my phone and transaction was done. I had no idea they were even offering that, so I was surprised when they did. Back to the question, I don't think so since I believe the transaction must be done to activate the gift card. However it worked out great for me, I took the gift card and immediately applied it to a Samsung Wireless Charging pad, that i wouldn't have normally bought right then. So you can get all accessorized for free pretty much.
