When you walk out of the store with this phone, no, you cannot use data or Internet when you talk on the phone. You can, however, go to best buy and have your verizon representative turn on that feature. I believe it is a 'voice clarity' feature. So the answer ultimately is yes, but you'll have to have someone in store turn on that feature for you.
