the $720 is with the phone on sale. It is dependent on you coming into the Best Buy and having the phone activated. Without activation the sales aren't qualifies.

So if the retail price were approximately $720, then the discount would be $50 with a monthly installment plan and as previously calculated about $670. I don't understand how the $819.99 retail value factors into all this because all that is advertised for the S8 is the $50 discount.

Please try again later.The $720 price point is a discount you get for purchasing the phone on a 24 month lease to own plan, and activating it with a carrier (Verizon, Sprint, or AT&T). If you want to purchase the phone outright, the financing option you would have would be to put it on a Best Buy credit card, with 12 months interest free financing, however, you would be paying the full retail value of $820.
