This is a simple one to answer. No need to be nervous as this phone will work on a GSM based network protocol. The operator within the country you're traveling to will simply provide you with their SIM card which gives the phone it's "instructions" on how to operate. In this case, a GSM based network for the country you might be traveling to. Since the phone is "unlocked", you can take it from operator to operator (and from country to country) without any issue.
