• When I did it it didn't give the option I paid around $55 for taxes and that was it. That is for Sprint though.

• You have to pay the tax on the actual whole price of the phone. That caught me by surprise, so just fyi. You can put down as much as you'd like and then they'll adjust your monthly payments accordingly.

• You have to at least pay for the taxes on the new phone. If you want to pay extra down, it will reduce your monthly payments for the 24 month plan. And I believe you can, after 30 days, pay off the remaining balance anytime.

• I preordered mine yesterday and did not need to put down a deposit. All 24 payments are billed by Sprint.
