More RAM doesn't always mean faster, its about how many tasks it can handle at a time at a certain speed. Look for the GHz rating for speed.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The "later model" comes with the S pen and a slot to carry the pen within the tablet itself. The earlier model does not carry the pen inside nor does it have the ability to us the s pen. Besides the 2G/3G ram difference, there are other small differences including the case size. (The table only version is 10 x 6.1 inches, and the S Pen version is 9.7 x 6.5 inches.) The processors are the same. I suspect that depending on # and kind of open apps and the app you are actively using the difference in performance will be small but noticeable. If you want to use a pen, then get the S pen model.
