• the spen can be attached on the upper edge of the table or in the back just below the camera, it's magneric but strong enough without any case that create interference.

• I had the same issue with a weak magnetic strip. I made sure to buy a case/cover combo (it was only $15 for a book-like case with a gorgeous design) that included a loop to slide the pen into.
