Hello Calagirl, thanks for asking! This watch is compatible with Non-Samsung Android Smartphones (Android OS 5.0 and above RAM 1.5GB and above). Depending on your smart watch, you can make and answer calls right from your wrist! You just need to make sure the watch is connected to your phone through Bluetooth or through a mobile network. the phone does have to be near you to register a call but havent tried talking thru the watch yet sorry
