A:Answer In order to use the standalone feature, you have to get a seperate number and yes pay for it. It does cost extra. The good thing about that is that you can leave your phone at home or car and still receive calls and messages on the watch. You can also pair this watch using bluetooth with your cell phone and use it that way, If you pair it with bluetooth, than you can receive phone calls on the watch, but you have to have your phone with you at all times beause it is using your cell phone number and just transferring call to the watch. It does not cost extra if you are using bluetooth way. Hope this helps.
