That is a great question, Traci! The Unlocked means that you are able to add services through your carrier to use all of the features without your phone being present. If it is described as Bluetooth or GPS, it means that the mobile device needs to stay within range for all features to be used. Thank you for taking the time to ask this question. ^Kayla

Unlocked means you can have a service on it to where you dont need your phone at all times. Gps means that its connected by bluetooth so you need your phone at all times.
