Unless your car is 30 feet (or less) from your watch you probably won't be able to stay connected. Rule of thumb for Bluetooth seems to be no more than about 30 feet. But walls and car bodies likely reduce that. Samsung does offer a version of this watch that can receive calls and texts without being connected to your phone. But it is more expensive and you need to purchase cell service for it.
