No you don't. All the fitness related stuff or customizations would work. The only feature you'd be missing might be calls/notifications but once you connect the watch to wifi, the watch and phone connect and ytou get those functions back even if your phone is at your home.
I would recommend:
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you purchase the Bluetooth version, then yes. There is also one that has it's own telephone number, which will give you another monthly bill. I have the Bluetooth version. I keep it in my pocket of my pants or my coat, and I set it on my desk while at work. The Bluetooth signal will allow you to be several feet away from your phone.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes unless you get the frontier version attached to your cell plan for extra cost each month
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. In order for to get text or make and answer calls you will need your phone nearby, connected to the watch via bluetooth. But to use as a watch you don't have to have your phone. I also read that you can make upto 10 payments with out the phone nearby, but I have not tested this feature. You may be able to use the frontier model with out a phone depending on your carrier.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No the watch can act as a standalone, but if you want to answer calls you need to be in the vicinity of the phone.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. For full functionality yes, but it works in standalone mode to keep the time and keep track of your activity.
