• It doesn't "warn" you prior to being disconnected; however, when it disconnects from the phone, it vibrates. If the Wi-Fi on the watch is on, it'll then connect to the phone via Wi-Fi, if the phone is also connected to the same Wi-Fi. Yes, it does help locate the phone as long as it is connected to it.
