It lets me text by either taking, typing, or actually writing with my finger. Its cool because you dont have to wait to reply to a message, you can access your messages at any time. I troed answering a call with my watch but it sent it to my phone. I can send a voice text message though, where its a recording of my voice

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No. You will not be able to reply to text messages. You can read them but not reply. A fatal flaw IMHO. The ability to reply to a text message is fundamental. It defeats the purpose of having a smart watch if I have to reach into my pocket for my phone. To answer phone calls you need a bluetooth ear piece as the Gear Sport does not have a speaker. But the ear piece can be paired to your phone so why have the watch? I liked the size and feel of the Gear Sport but didn't want to move up to the much larger and more expensive Samsung Gear S3. Returned it and bought the Huawei Watch 2 that does allow me to reply directly from the watch and answer calls. The Huawei runs Android Wear 2 not the Tizen.
