A:Answer I'm not sure what you mean by needing size 42mm. Do you mean for a watch band you already own, or something else? If it's just about wearing it, you'll never notice a 1mm difference. It's quite a bit different from the Apple watch. There's square vs round to start with. There aren't going to be as many apps available for the Gear as there are for the Apple. However, the Gear can be used with both Apple and Android phones, where the Apple watch can only be used with Apple.
Since the Gear Sport does NOT have any type of cellular connection capability (the Gear Frontier and Gear Classic have that option), it doesn't matter who the carrier is. If you have a phone with Android or iOS and a bluetooth connection, the Gear Sport will work with it.
