When somehing is refurbished it could mean multiple things. 1. A customer bought it, returned it soon after. Geek squad then checked if it work, gactory reser leaving nothing that was possible in there. 2. The box when they received it at bestbuy was damage in some way or form. So they couldnt sell it looking like that. The product is new but they cant be sold as new because the box was damaged. So they call it open box.
