In this instance, with this item, the term "refurbish" simply means the item was unpackaged and used, then wiped and recertified, and put back inside its orig packaging. These SSDs are occasionally used by Geek Squad at a retail store to move data or temporarily store data on a laptop they are selling or fixing. Then they wipe the SSD, check it, and re-package it as a used SSD.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I believe they don't do anything to refurbish them as in actual repairs, but they are wiped/cleared/reformatted and (supposedly) tested to ensure they are still fully operational. You may find they have a minimum of Power-On Hours and Writes to the drive because they were returned due to incompatibility or other reason. They may also have been rather heavily used first before someone decided they didn't like the transfer speed or whatever. It's a bit of a crap-shoot.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Right?! Lol
