No it sounds great without them. The extra speakers is a waste of money when you consider the technology used in the bar and sub.

When I purchased mine there was a deal on them and they were $30 off for that price or better I think they’re worth it. When you’re spending this much for a sound bar what is another hundred dollars to add to experience. I do feel for a little bit they add to it they should’ve just come with it there’s really not much to them and I’m sure for the price they’re charging for the sound bar they could’ve included the speakers that should be a part of the package.

Please try again later.The rear speakers really do enhance and balance the soundbar when you are listening to Dolby Atmos or DTS-X tracks from say a 4k blu ray player or some streaming devices like Disney plus. This is where the rear speakers really shine, are plenty loud and really help deliver the full surround experience. I imagine it would be great with gaming too. If you just watch regular TV they are not as loud and more in the background but still deliver the surround.
