Q: QuestionI just purchased this sound bar and I want to know is it truly necessary to add wireless rear speakers to enhance sound quality or will this sound bar sound great without the aid of rear speakers?
Asked by Antwill.
- A:Answer No it sounds great without them. The extra speakers is a waste of money when you consider the technology used in the bar and sub.

Q: QuestionI use Night mode on my current sound bar to enhance voice dialogue during movies. These do not have a Night mode. How is dialogue and voice clarity, what modes are best for this?
Asked by JohnP.
- A:Answer At low volume I have not needed Night Mode. I have had no problems hearing vocals clearly. You can easily adjust the level of the sub from the remote or even mute the sub without entering any menus should you have the need.

Q: QuestionWill the new hw q80r shut off like the hw n850 after 5 min of paused movie.
Asked by Billy.
- A:Answer Q80 should do everything the N850 did. Based on specs and my experience with the two, the changes from last year to this year are a name change and a couple of cosmetic changes (dark gray to black chasis, smaller Harmon Kardon label on top of bar, circular fabric over the subwoofer driver instead of cloth covering the entire side). Oh, and they now offer 1 more wifi audio service in addition to Tune-in. They offer Deezer too. Still no Pandora or Spotify via the Smartthings app unfortunately.

Q: QuestionI purchase this sound bar a few month ago, like tons of others on the internet the HDMI (ARC) seems to stop working. Spoke with samsung 3 times now like others and had it sent in and they said it was fixed it wasn't. I say not worth the money
Asked by NmWC.
- A:Answer I couldn't agree with you more on the HDMI ARC - I was on the phone with Geek Squad after spending a ridiculous amount of time trying to troubleshoot, including the manuals, youtube videos, etc...bascially the Geek Squad support person said that the 'sometimes' just don't work. Not sure how that can be an answer in this day and age.

Q: QuestionHow this one compare to Vizio 36 5.1.2 sound bar with Dolby Atomas support? Vizio product is significantly cheaper than this one.
Asked by sam.
- A:Answer This one blows vizio away, even better than Bose.

Q: QuestionDo you think adding the sw900 rear speakers significantly enhances the sound quality of my Q80R sound bar?
Asked by Antwill.
- A:Answer We just bought that rear speaker kit, and we're really happy with them. The system just sounds a little fuller in our large family room, and special effects are amazing. If you're mainly focussed on dialog or music, there's no need for the rear speakers.

Q: QuestionDo you have to have a QLED tv for this to work? I have a Sharp Aquos so it's about 9 years old.
Asked by LJ.
- A:Answer No we also have an older sharp TV and it works beautifully. As long as you have HDMI you should be good...
