“Will this help with removing background noise in the film while amplifying the voices? I can hardly hear voices in films, and I must crank volume high to hear it but that causes the music or other sound in the film to blast way too loud.”

Hi Michele, The HW-C400 Soundbar is a 2.0 channel Soundbar. You will want to move up to the HW-B650 Soundbar as this comes with a center channel. This center channel is where all dialogue comes from, allowing for separation of background noise and voices. ~Samsung Solutions

Now this one is saying it has no center channel and to get a different one. Which one actually has the center channel so you can hear voices?? Or do you just lie and keep making people spend more money??

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You surely rectified your q by now but, for others that may read it. There is an option on the HW-C400 that increases the volume of dialogue. How well it works, I do not know as I haven't tried it. There are no external speakers on this soundbar but, there are several internal speakers, with 1 dedicated to dialogue like an external centre speaker. If you have a TV that will allow for the use of both an added external sound system and your internal TV speakers, try using that option and slightly increasing your TV volume. Don't go so high in volume though, that causes an echo effect.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.They all have a center channel and if the sound isn't right it's because you don't know how to use your TV or the settings. I have multiple Samsung Soundbars from the low end to a super high end. And it makes a huge difference in the sound depending on what settings you have it on. In addition to the settings on the actual sound bar there are additional settings in the smart things app on your phone. Bottom line these are all awesome sound bars, even this one I have in my bedroom, and it's movie theater quality if you know what you're doing
