Only if your receiver has a fiber-optic sound output capability, and you are not already using the fiber-optic input on the sound bar. You cannot connect this unit directly to a receiver for use as regular speakers. You would need to purchase "passive" speakers for that.

The connection to the TV only requires one cable, either HDMI or digital optical audio. You can even connect the soundbar to the TV wirelessly if your TV supports Bluetooth audio. ^Tim
