Greetings! No, this Samsung Jet Bot model does not recognize pet waste. This goes as well for any liquid spilled (water, beverage, etc). The Jet Bot is not recommended to clean liquid spills as it can be severely damaged and may dirty other areas with its wet wheels. Leo
