• On the latest firmware, I haven't seen any of this. Would have sent it back if I had that issue.

• The monitor has worked great for me. I’ve been using it for 3 weeks with no sign of flickering yet.

• In November there was a firmware update that fixed the issue.

• Just bought a brand new one. Has the 1009.3 firmware. NO IT DOES NOT FIX THE ISSUE. NOPE. NICE TRY. ABSOLUTELY NOT. TRIED EVERYTHING, STILL BACKLIGHT FLICKER WHEN ADAPTIVE SYNC IS ENABLED!. PERIOD. IF you need adaptive sync, don't buy this monitor. And if you need reliable, don't buy that alienware. The only monitor that looks okay now is the Acer XB273UGX. There, I just saved you a month of research.
