If you want to use this tablet on your phone data plan you'll to buy the tablet plan with your carrier. Otherwise, you'll just have a wi-fi tablet. Also, the Samsung Chromebook wi-fi only version of this tablet is less expensive to purchase, but you can't use that one with a SIM card. I am with Sprint and they don't support this tablet, so I purchased the tablet on the Verizon plan. Very happy with it!
