AnnyD, The S9+ supports microSD cards up to 400GB, so the 512GB PRO Plus microSD card is not compatible but lower capacity cards are. ~Samsung Pro
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This particular microSD card is not supported by the S9/S9+ series, but only due to its storage capacity. Per Samsung's official website, the maximum storage capacity that the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ max out at is 400GB. If you choose a different memory card (400GB or less), then yes, that can indeed free up space. You will just need to move the photos, documents, apps, etc. onto the new SD card. You could also set it up to automatically put newly taken photos, apps, and/or downloads to the SD card, rather than the device storage (although, that is out of the scope of this answer; a quick web search on how to do this should suffice).
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I just CHATted with a Samsung rep (5/30/2024, about 3 AM). I asked what was the largest capacity I could use in my Galaxy S9, & he told me Samsung had tested it with up to 512 GB cards and approved their use. He also told me that some people reported having good luck with cards up to 1.5 terabytes. (I didn't know they even existed!) Mark W
