“Since there's not an exposed heating element. Top rack dishwasher only items- Can they be put on the bottom rack? I have large melamine plates that don't fit on the top rack. Or can the temperature be reduced to allow items on the bottom rack.”

You don’t have to worry there’s no heal element or drying fan whatsoever. Everything will come out sopping wet.
