“Will the remote work through a wood cabinet door? I plan on hooking it up to a Samsung UHD TV but want a clean look and the device in the cabinet. Does not mention if RF or IR. Thanks.”

You can buy an infrared repeater/transmitter for hidden installs. They are also called a Remote Control Extender kit which are usually just an IR receiver that re-sends it to a IR sender that has adhesive that you put in front of the 'eye'. A true Infrared repeater will run you around $100 but most people can get away with the cheaper Remote Control extender which are much cheaper; often are priced around $30-40. Both are available here in BestBuy. I linked one of each type below in recommended products. I haven't tried these specifically, and there are other choices available, but it will give you an idea of what you are after.
