its best to buy a new one, i have two of the same model blu-ray players and like what happen to you my player stop playing some dvds not all, it stopped playing burned dvds and some movie dvds, for some reason most of all the blu-ray dvd players i have bought have experience this same defect after awhile, the only useful thing to consider is the usb port in the front if you have movies on a thumb drive, and when you do buy a new one see how long will it last before it start acting up, if this one stops playing dvds and cds then i guess blu- ray players are prone to fail after so long, i dont know why, i dont know if a more expensive blu- ray player would last as long and not have this defect.
