“Do I need a blue ray/DVD player with Wi-Fi if I am connecting to a SMART TV? I have a new Samsung 40" SMART TV. I need a Blue-Ray player as my current DVD/VHS player does not play DVDs well anymore. There are some players with Wi-Fi, which are most costly than this version that is without Wi-Fi. Can I buy this player without Wi-Fi or should I pay more for the Wi-Fi enabled version to get more options or benefits? Does my SMART TV have everything I need to avoid paying extra for a Wi-Fi enabled Blue-Ray player?”

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have a cable receiver that is connected to the internet. In order to update my NON-wifi Blu-ray player, I have to have that internet connection. I connected the Blu-ray player to the TV with an HDMI cable and I connected the cable receiver to the Blu-ray player with a Cat5 cable. Your Blu-ray will still work without the Cat5 cable, but you will not be able to update it if your cable receiver is not hardwired to the internet modem. Hope this helps.
