Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have a cable receiver that is connected to the internet. In order to update my NON-wifi Blu-ray player, I have to have that internet connection. I connected the Blu-ray player to the TV with an HDMI cable and I connected the cable receiver to the Blu-ray player with a Cat5 cable. Your Blu-ray will still work without the Cat5 cable, but you will not be able to update it if your cable receiver is not hardwired to the internet modem. Hope this helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You do not have to have wifi Blu-ray/DVD Player for use with a SMART TV. Your TV can be connected using just an HDMI connection.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Your SMART TV should suffice. I would avoid paying extra for built in WiFi in your blue ray.
