It will play just fine. If your sound system as an ARC (Audio Return Channel) then the set up is even easier. If you connect your Blu-ray to your TV and connect the TV to sound system via the ARC port, then all of your sound will flow through your sound system over the HDMI cable between the TV and the receiver. This means fewer cable running between the various inputs on your sound system.
