• It will do anything an internal drive will do, though SATA-like data transfer speed will depend on your bus connection type (USB 2, 3.0, 3.1, C). Storage is absolutely possible, but running from the drive depends on your system.

• Yes you can, I currently use this drive to store and play games on my Xbox One X. Considering getting one to use on my PS4 Pro as well.

• As long as you have a USB port, you should be fine. I am not sure about Playstation though, as I'm pretty certain Playstation requires a 4TB minimum on their external hard drive requirements.
