This Samsung T5 drive has a USB-C port. The current iPad Pros have a USB-C port. Their inability to talk to each other is ENTIRELY because iOS 12 didn’t support external drives. The highly anticipated iOS 13 rolling out fall of 2019 changes this. YouTubers who have installed the iOS 13 BETA on the iPad Pro have demonstrated that external drives are recognized. I believe the drives were formatted as exFAT.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. There are 3 small files on the T5 drive containing instructions and a link to an app. They are for Android, Windows, and iOS. The T5 is designed to work with all three. I have not used it with iOS, but I suspect the app would take you through any formatting that may be needed. (FWIW, I connected an old Hitachi external hard drive to an old Samsung tablet, and the tablet itself offered to re-format it to the required format.) I connected the T5 to the same tablet using an OTG adapter and it worked fine. Just slower because the adapter is USB 2.0. The T5 comes with 2 cables to accommodate a USB-C or a USB-A port. I think the iPad Pro is USB-C. Samsung has teally covered all the bases with this product.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Absolutely you should be able to use the C-to-C cable included with the drive (there is also a C-to-3.0 cable). It’s plug and play ready.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It will work with any Apple software system right out of the box. I plugged into a MacBook and it took off immediately. No formatting was required. Usually, if formatting is required, the OS will tell you with a pop up.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Unfortunately iPad Pros do not support the directories required to read or write files. Sorry, but I doubt any external storage will work!
