• The answer above is false I got the audio to play from the monitor. 27 inch does in fact have speakers the 24 inch is the model that does not.

• This monitor does not have built in speakers. The HDMI connection can be used as a passthrough to your speakers using the audio out connection on the monitor. This allows you to share your speakers across multiple inputs on the monitor.
