“I have a media player that does not recognize the drive at all. Does it need to be formatted differently from how it comes out of the box? I have other non-ssd drives that work fine. MP3s, VOBs, AVIs, MP4s, all play on these "hard drives".”

• Check what file system your other drives are formatted as (since your media player recognizes them) and then try formatting this SSD with the same file system.

• Your media player may be looking for a FAT formatted drive. I believe this comes formatted extended. Check the specs.

• Mine was plug and play. No issues. You may need to go into your device manager and look for it to run a diag. I had similar problems in the past with a hard drive I installed on a computer.
