“My soundbar does not have any hdmi hookups its wired to the subwoofer it does have an optical line. my question can I still hook this player to my soundbar without the hdmi hookup just plug the player using hdmi video hookup out of player into my 55in”

• Yes I would plug right into tv. Everything else will still work

• The player has an optical out. It also supports the newer HDMI standard that has audio on the HDMI connector but you soundbar would have to support that too.
