It upscales really good but a poor quality DVD will still show the problems. There is no magic in upscaling. A graphic engine tries to extrapolate information and the approximation shows as video artifacts. It is only that much it can do. Of course cheap graphic engines are the worst. This particular one is not bad at all. It does not compare with a high end video processor but for the money it does a good job.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can set the player to output everything in 4k (uhd). So yes, it will upscale whatever the source is to 4k, or 1080p, if that's what you want.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It upscales anything not 4K. It will upscale 480 but it can't fill in the missing detail. It still gives a nice picture but it is still a 480 source. My tv also upscales so it is a little difficult to tell which machine is doing the best upscaling. Personally, other than 1080 HD tv programming, I don't rely on upscaling much. GIGO still applies.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes. :)
