“We got this blu ray at christmas, has only been used once since, but now when i tried to play a movie it froze. anytime i tried to turn on the player it continues to freeze and i get a blinkin red light on the player. whats going on?”

Return it while it is still under warranty. I have had some quality control issues with Samsung products before. It seems they work extremely well out of the box or in rare events they turn out to be lemons.
