Yes it should play fine, 4k receiver & 4k DVD player = awesome picture !!! Samsung & Sony are compatible, the HDMI reconization that is automatic on Samsung may not function the same on Sony but just enter it manually & you will be fine !!! These were $423.00 when I was an early adopter so grab one now for $199.00 while you can !!!
