Excellent question! The main thing to consider when using a drip pan for your washer is the leveling. Often times using a pan under the washer (or pedestal) can make it difficult to properly level the unit, which can cause issues when in use. The other thing to note is that depending on the height of the lip of your pan, you may be unable to open the pedestal drawer fully. ^Jecca
