The easiest fix would be to exchange them, the same thing happened to us and we exchanged them and the new ones connected right away.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have the 6500 sound bar (curved) and the 9000 rear speakers, and a Samsung 8500 TV (curved). I added the wireless dongle that comes with the 9000 speakers to the sound bar via the USB port on the sound bar and paired the rear speakers with the sound bar. The rear speakers seem to work only if I select bit stream and Dolby Digital for the sound output format on the TV. I turned on the surround option for the sound bar using the sound bar controller. Smart sound seems to enhance the surround sound. The rear speakers don't seem work with some older TV shows and old movies. I don't have to increase the rear speaker volume at all. But, I have my system in a small living room--about 20x20 ft.
