Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Canon printers use toner cartridges made by Canon for this (and other compatible) models. I have no idea whether you can buy third party/off brand cartridges that will fit this model. I would NEVER use third party/off brand cartridges in my Canon printers. Canon stuff is ALWAYS "top shelf," high quality stuff. (I have even heard from people who have tested rechargeable batteries for cameras report that Canon brand rechargeable batteries are superior to other brands. I have found the Canon brand ink cartridges for their ink jet printers are superior to the cheaper off-brands you can get from office supply stores.) The bottom line is Canon printers are terrific printers and their ink and toner are top-notch. I have no interest in fouling up the printers with cheap knock-off ink or toner.
