No, the memory card is to expand your storage capacity. The Switch have built in storage but will eventually run out as you add games and data. Physical games still require space to play but less than the downloaded versions. They add up very quickly so I recommend having the extra storage space.

No, there is internal storage. This is additional storage if you want a bunch of games.

No you do not, but like any console, memory fills up. It all depends on how many games you'll have installed.
