• The player has a slot for an optional SDHC card to expand the internal memory but a card isn't needed to use the player. It has 8 GB internal memory accessible through a micro usb port that can connect to a PC for downloading additional media. Haven't connected to anything else but might be possible also.

• Not necessarily. it has internal memory, you can add music with a cable. It also has a slot for external memory.
