• The battery is a rechargeable, so hopefully it wouldn't be necessary for quite some time. However, from my inspection, there seems no readily available way of removing or replacing the battery that wouldn't be damaging to the player itself. Also, considering the price of batteries and the general inaccessibility of this device's battery, I would recommend if the situation arises to simply buy a new device.
