“Can I plug this in to charge in my car and still access files wirelessly?”

• You can access it wirelessly while plugged into a USB charging port. However, if you plug into a USB port where the device is accessed, it seems to disable the wireless feature. So, don't plug into a car or radio USB medial port to charge, plug into an auxillary USB charging port and it will work and charge at the same time.
